Stress relief is something most of us can use, but the search is not as easy as could be. Exercise is a familiar approach. That's relaxation music. Both are good ways to relieve stress, but no other non-invasive and drug free treatment that works. Shiatsu.
If not familiar with this effective therapy, here are some quick facts.
Shiatsu was discovered by a Japanese who wanted desperately to relieve the pain of his mother's arthritis. Using hands and fingers in a certain way, was able to give that relief. That was in 1912.
Since then it has recognized worldwide as an effective treatment for a variety of stress-related conditions such as headaches, migraines, insomnia, neck pain and stiffness, tension and muscle spasms, digestive problems and anxiety and depression.
How does shiatsu to relieve stress?
Shiatsu works with the body's natural ability to heal itself. By applying pressure with fingers, thumbs and palms to various areas of soft tissue the body, a Shiatsu therapist training helps the body to reduce Muscle Tension and improve the functioning of his internal organs.
That releases energy blocked and provides relief from pain and discomfort which, in turn, releases the accumulation of stress throughout the body. After the first treatment, many people report immediate improvement.
Shiatsu is not the same as massage
Massage involves rubbing and kneading the body to improve circulation and relieve tension Muscle Pain. In Shiatsu, the therapist applies and maintains pressure on specific body points to release tight muscles and blocked energy pathways. Because this method also improves the function of organs, the benefits of the Whole Body Shiatsu.
A Shiatsu treatment typically begins after your health history and evaluation are taken. Current treatment is usually done in a proper Floor Mat or a Therapy Table. The pressure and gentle stretching of the body that are made are based on your specific complaint. The entire process can take 30 minutes to 90 minutes.
It is important to make sure the therapist you choose is certified Shiatsu therapist, because anyone can claim to be a therapist, while not having adequate training. Since some manipulation of the body is involved, only want people working on you who know what they're doing.
A properly trained and certified with the therapist has appointed CST ® (Certified Shiatsu Therapist ") recognition.
Two organizations are the Pan American supervisor of Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) and NCCAOM (National Council for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) in the United States that require their applicants to submit evidence of having received training in anatomy, physiology, Chinese medicine, and related disciplines.
Look for these names and certifications to choose a Shiatsu practitioner. Once you find a good one, is likely want to return several times to relieve tension that accumulates each week. Shiatsu is an excellent natural method for quick relief from stress.
