Rubber is the only material that is thought to be absolutely waterproof which is demonstrated by its use in wide range of boots, diving gloves to suites. EPDM is an extremely robust material, is extremely resistant to puncture or penetration, is not affected by air pollution, ozone or UV light of acid rain and unlike most of bituminous materials, does not degrade, crack or become brittle after long periods exposed to the elements hard time.

Over the years, EPDM has proven its longevity in Arctic conditions, the temperate and tropical climates, in fact, the facilities made in the sixties, are providing exceptional performance to this day! Of EPDM rubber membrane, installing once, is great for renewal of flat roof of the national ceilings that age or brand new residential or commercial facilities, resulting in a total waterproofing deck. Any deck flat will benefit immensely from this modern flat roof material that flexes with temperature variations and not split, tear or become porous. Not only is suitable for flat roofs but also will best fit metal roof concrete roof for RV roofs and other roofs.

The industry covered trade dates back hundreds of years and in that context, three "modern" roofing systems: EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin). While they have their own individual advantages, one advantage they all share is that the facility without smoke. Emission tar-based gases and asphalt roof is becoming a major problem nationwide installation

Properties EPDM

EPDM is a synthetic elastomer made by combining ethylene and propylene with a diene monomer attached. This polymer (when cross-linked) is a very good moisture barrier resistant to oxidation and UV degradation but its most important feature is its ability to tolerate both low as well as high temperatures (the least 62 to plus 350 degrees Fahrenheit). EPDM is used exclusively for radiator hoses, freezer gaskets and seals for low temperature steam hoses, and rubber roofing membranes. Also mixed with other rubbers to improve their properties, A multitude of products are now better and last longer due to the contribution of EPDM rubber.

The EPDM is relatively inexpensive, and can come in very large rolls. Often, it would take a team of men or equipment mechanic to unwind and manipulate materials. It is the joint work, and insights that are fundamental to this system, and joint compounds, adhesives, and cover flashing are very expensive and need to be installed with great care and attention to detail. Rare roofs are seamless, tears or mechanical equipment on flat roofs, so the job detail is very important when considering a EPDM roof system.

Liquid from EPDM rubber layer is also a very effective, especially for steel which is exposed to a salt environment. Can be applied on the roof, gutters, steel structures, boxes, air conditioning, cooling towers, galvanized steel, unit heater pipes, smoke stacks chimneys, fiberglass and non porous masonry surfaces. Liquid EPDM can be applied directly on rusted or weathered metals without the need for costly and long primers.

EPDM Rubber has had a long record of superior performance in hoses, molded products, tires and roofing membranes. For example, radiator hoses in our cars and boards of freezer doors EPDM and show the wide range of temperatures that the product can handle. EPDM Roofing Membranes also have more than 30 year history of success. EPDM is relatively inexpensive, easy to install, and clean enough to work with compared to conventional materials. It is not the strong odors and fumes either. The product is very stable and the resulting characteristics of Liquid EPDM such as flexibility, weatherability and chemical resistance are determined by it.

The versatile membrane offers a variety of installation options including fully adhered, ballasted or mechanically attached offering superior weather resistance long term and show exceptional resistance to wind lift. EPDM is the perfect solution for most flat roof problems. When you lose a development existing EPDM roof, the solutions are almost always simple. In most cases, the repair and reinforcement of the seams, flashings, and perimeter resolved problems, we stop the drain, and add many more years of life to your existing roof. Typical life expectancy of a properly installed EPDM roof is 25 years or more.
