Perhaps the name Inversion Therapy is new to you. If so, the inversion therapy is a therapy that has a long history of use, and benefits. Basically, the inversion therapy is a therapy that is derived from the use of what is called an Inversion Table, which the user hangs upside down by the ankles, or at least in part, face down with head lower than feet.

What is the origin of inversion therapy and why anyone would want to hand upside down?

The use of inversion therapy has been recognized and at the time of Hippocrates around 400 BC. It is said that Hippocrates, sometimes called the father of medicine and whose name is used in the Hippocratic oath, used their patients to hang upside down. Therefore has a long history. However, it was not until a doctor in the U.S. with the name of Robert Martin began using in the 1960s it became more common in the United States.

Dr. Martin introduced a system that uses the concept of inversion therapy using an inversion table and began to promote "his" therapy, inversion therapy.

In the 1980s investment was therapy become popular, especially after Richard Gere was seen using gravity boots in the movie "American Gigolo". The inversion therapy had reached big time.

However, it was not without her detractors, and a study conducted by Dr. Goldman in 1983 suggested that it might increase the risk of stroke, But Dr. Goldman, who spent 2 years later, when he declared that he could not find any increased risk of time invested in the right way.
Subsequent studies confirmed that there is no risk of using inversion therapy.

However, the popularity of inversion therapy and inversion tables had declined because these advertising that originated in the first study. However, it has come back with a vengeance, especially in the U.S. Army now recognizes inversion therapy and the uses to try to reverse some of the damage done to the bodies of soldiers during training. Of course, the army being what just started using inversion therapy after studying its effectiveness for some years.

So if you decide to use an inversion table and begin to hang upside down what kind of benefits can you expect?

One of the main uses of this therapy is the treatment of Back Pain. Many forms of pain back is due to the effects of gravity on our body and can be reversed by reversing the effects of gravity. Users report a reduction in the back pain very early in the use of inversion therapy, and many report significant improvements in their quality of life in general after starting therapy.

Other benefits include stress relief, improved circulation and improved mental clarity, by increases in blood flow to the brain. It was also reported benefits for reducing the effects of aging. One of the major effects of aging is the loss of height, as thin disks in the spine, and investment can help limit height loss.

There are other benefits of using an inversion table, however, that the use of primary is in the treatment of back conditions.
