Boxing Gloves have been around for over 3,000 years and has undergone significant changes. The more dramatic than in the beginning with the Greek Olympic using straps hardened leather to Protect Your knuckles.
They shared the information with the Romans, who took the sport to a whole new level in the Gladiator ring. Of course, the Romans added a few extras to gloves, resulting in the death and maiming of many competitors. Things were so bad that the sport was banned in 30 BC not disappeared completely, however. Men still in box bare-knuckled even though not authorized, in many countries, illegal.
While boxing won a renaissance in the 17th century and was reintroduced boxing gloves in the ring, which were primarily for training only. Fist discovered remains the method preferred to be in the ring. Fighters were still maimed and killed even though in many countries boxing as a sport was still illegal.
With the addition of the Marquis of Queensbury rules and boxing gloves as part of their team in the ring in the 19th century the sport has gained the respect. Now sanctioned by the rules of conduct was free to progress.
And the progress he has. Today there are many different boxing gloves available in young men and women, competition and styles competition. Some people compete, other professional wrestling, and a growing number of people with cash to exercise some self-defense thrown in.
Gloves Boxing are also needed in the Martial Art of kickboxing. Although mainly using feet, hands are also used in this sport, for boxing gloves are essential for safety.
There are basic types of gloves, each designed for a specific purpose.
The first is the glove of the Speed Bag, Just over a pair of padded Leather Gloves. As the impact force is not the focus and speed is, only the skin of the knuckles of the boxer needs to be protected.
A heavier glove bag is used when working on a Heavy Punching bag. Here the force of impact is the goal so it is important to protect hands and wrists of the boxer. These gloves are padded with foam and sturdy leather cover for durability.
Sparring Gloves are used in the training ring and used by the boxer and sparring. They are very padded for the safety of both athletes. Weighing between 14 and 20 ounces, with multiple layers of padding to reduce impact of blows between the two partners. Because these gloves are frequently used a better grade of leather is used for durability. Few wish to be part of a sport or a class defense where they have to buy new fighter gloves each month.
Gloves competition, both amateur and professional are much lighter weight and built to standards strict. These gloves weigh between 8 to 10 ounces and have a high degree of foam padding to ensure the safety of competitors. Amateur gloves have a white area in the back of the glove to score late. The area to help the judges to determine the best scoring shots.
The use of the Boxing Glove suitable for the right purpose helps to ensure the safety of the athletes involved.
