Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic is a heavyweight Mixed Martial Arts with a record of 22-4-2. That is a terribly impressive record, but the record does not count whole story. However, the record is a good starting point.

Let's examine "," Cro Cop registration, starting with their losses. Mirko four losses reached the hands of some of the best fighters in MMA history, which are (in reverse chronological order):

1) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira – Former heavyweight champ Pride heavy.
2) Kevin Randleman – Former UFC heavyweight champion.
3) Fedor Emelianenko – The current Pride heavyweight champion.
4) Mark Hunt – Former K-1 champion Grand Prix.

Hold on, does this guy lose someone you did not have the belt? For anyone who at one time or another was not at the top of the sport? No, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic is the real deal. I said before that the record does not tell the whole story, so let's analyze this a little and see losses we can imagine.

The loss of Mirko Cro Cop to Antonio Nogueira by arm bar … introduction in 2003. This is a fight that dominated Mirko to presentation. It was four years ago, a lifetime is a boxer who was, until then, standing above all a fighter. Clearly, Cro Cop took the loss of heart as he not been submitted since then.

Kevin Randleman was fighting alongside the defeat Cro Cop, and did it with style. He called Mirko, who is widely considered the best striker in the world. I have no explanation for this. Certainly, Kevin Randleman is a powerful man and very fast for a man his size, but strike out Mirko Filipovic to be a false impression. No, not a bad impression, but no strike Mirko landed a big hit, timed right and floored Cro Cop. No excuses, no explanation, Kevin Randleman and Mirko Mirko nailed paid the price.

Fedor Emelianenko was next on the short list of defeats Mirko. Many thought that this struggle or be won by knock out Fedor Cro Cop, Fedor, submit or ground and beating Cro Cop. The fight did not happen at all. While Fedor won a tight decision but unanimous, Mirko showed well. Avoid presenting, it worked well from his back and showed that it has become much more than a great stand up fighter. In the end, Fedor was just a little too loud and a bit too much talent. Today, Fedor is still the heavyweight champion and Pride probably the best heavyweight fighter in the world, but many would like to see a rematch with Mirko.

Mark Hunt is the latest defeat Mirko Cro Cop. This fight took place in 2005, and I personally believe that Mirko enough to win. However, the judges gave a split decision to Hunt. Recall that in this struggle is the fight against Mirko K-1 Grand Prix champion and it is not surprising that most of the fight was standing. Not surprisingly, it was very short as two of the worlds best strikers (and the man with the world hard head) were fighting. Hunt is almost impossible to knock him out.

Mirko has also won twenty two fights, his last five games in a row and won open weight tournament held at Pride 2006. He won the tournament defeating Minowa, Yoshida, Smith and Barnett. While waiting Minowa, Yoshida is a gold medal in judo, Silva is the middleweight champion of the pride (of average weight is up to 205 in Pride) and Josh Barnett is a former UFC champion heavyweight. Defeated Smith and Barnett on the same night.

That 's Mirko fight against Silva, which spawned the title of this piece. It was so overwhelmingly dominant in all aspects of the struggle that is difficult for me to imagine any MMA fighter in any weight class beating Mirko Cro Cop at this point. Certainly I do not see any competition in the UFC. Once Mirko wins heavyweight title UFC (who will win), Dana White, will have to stop looking for someone who can beat Tim Sylvia and start looking for someone who can compete with Mirko "Cro Cop"! Can anyone say "Fedor"!

Kiyoshi Tamura and Ikuhisa Minowa fought under full PRIDE rules in the opening fight, while the rest of the 160-pound and 183-pound fighters used Bushido rules. PRIDE Shockwave 2006 was a mixed martial arts event held by PRIDE Fighting Championships on December 31, 2006.
