Good question. There is certainly no shortage of mis-and dis-information out there on the subject. Do not rely on groups or organizations with an agenda (ie Exxon, NY Times, UN, etc.). There is some debate about CO2 levels increase, but a climatologist at the University of Colorado, says that these levels increased dramatically in the '30s and '40s, declined in the '60s, increased again in the years 70. Indeed, emissions are not helping. Do not expect to get an unbiased answer here, however. Not going to happen. Many are misinformed, too deluded into believing their own rhetoric, and regurgitate all the interests of the media wants. Although Bush is no champion of the environment, Gore and officials of other government programs or are not, except perhaps Arnold Schwarzenegger in California that this legislative initiative in his state that is very progressive (but scare away business and jobs work). As far as I know, the environment does not have any lobbyists on K Street pay politicians who represent it. Heck, even Robert Kennedy Jr. was paid by oil interests in Venezuela. If you find an organization that really cares about the environment without a political agenda, sign me up ….
