Fabrics and why?
There are a multitude of designs for fabrics used for dress shirts. To begin with lets you get a perspective clear some of the terminology used by the weavers. If we were to see the threads when the tissue material used in horizontal and vertical series, would be to warp and the vertical plot would be horizontal. Warp and weft are put together in different ways, so shirts can be dense or loose tissue. They have a box or a rough texture ribbed or smooth color and added to the mixture can be done in any pattern imaginable.
The most common are the tissues
Cloth or Poplin: The most basic of tissues. The woven cloth is an even number of warp and weft threads of the fabric creating a smooth surface.
Final tip: Also cloth though made with different colored warp and weft yarns. Most commonly done with threads of blue and white one address of the other.
Serge: The twill fabric is a single or several weft threads through several warp yarns. As the fabric is a thread of the warp at the beginning of each pass skips and a warp thread is added to the final. As tissue is tightened this creates a ribbed effect in the material.
Pinpoint: Similar to Short though slightly Texture with single strands of weft pass over and in the double strands of the warp thread. "
