Should I re-learn karate?
I started doing karate at 10 years of age. I gave up 2 ½ years later. Can you teach me myself? I still have all the equipment and weapons for karate class. I also have a book that taught me to make all forms. PS: I did takwondo … Or should I go back and start again at white belt and to learn from a Instuctor? Personally I thought they were going to classes a lot. If you do karate, how pay each month? Well … I pay for classes, but I think around $ 100 or less per month was not really worth it. All they did was teach us how to kick and hitting. All we did was continue to make us do that. Why can not I do it myself for free? Ok … they did teach us more than kicking and punching … lol.
Ask yourself if you want to mimic or actually learn Martial Arts. In over 41 years who have never heard of anyone successfully teaching themselves to any style of martial arts. Videos, books, etc. …. are good only for reference. Its value is that it reminds us of something we already know, to teach us. This requires a qualified instructor. Avoid any place that sells Black Belt contract or gives more importance to the belts on the skills and knowledge. As a safety belt can not do anything for you, only you can.
