The momentum of cleaner cars through the streets of the world community has reached another high. One example is the funding of research on major innovations automotive French Innovation Agency (Agency for Industrial Innovation, or IIA). The agency recently announced that it will fund research that are made by Valeo, a leading supplier to all the world. The IIA has ordered the release of 61 million euros for use in the study conducted by Valeo. In the above funds in relation to the company's goal to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by vehicles.

"This funding recognizes the value of the work that Valeo engineers have been working in this field for several years and allow us to bring to market new solutions that can provide up to 30 percent fuel savings with a significant reduction of CO2 emissions and pollutant emissions, "said Thierry Morin, Chairman and CEO of Valeo.

Valeo is doing research on two major innovations that will help car manufacturers to produce cars clean. The first is the camless system. Valeo is looking for ways to replace the camshaft with electromagnetic actuators. This is an important innovation from a camshaft is common in all engines and this is the component that opens or closes the intake and exhaust ports through the valve control. Technology aims to reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions by up to 20 percent. The fuel consumption is reduced from electromagnetic actuators will powered by the car battery instead of being a burden on the engine. The technology also significantly increase the performance and driving comfort of a vehicle by increasing low end torque. This technology is intended primarily for gasoline engines, but a diesel version will also be developed in the future.

The second innovation is to be reviewed by Valeo is a next-generation hybrid. Valeo expects to improve performance and fuel efficiency technology of its stars + X. The technology will be equipped with a Start-Stop function that the vehicle can shut the engine at idle. The technology also uses a regenerative braking system. This means that the energy released during the application of the brakes will recover. Valeo alternator also add a High power that will provide additional power to the engine while driving at low speed. Apart from these, the better capacitors will also be used to complement whole system. However, the improvement of the stars + X technology will further reduce fuel consumption of a vehicle up to 15 percent.

These Two systems are being investigated by Valeo are compatible. This means that in the future, vehicles can be equipped with a hybrid engine camless that dramatically reduces the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by vehicles.
