Calf Support
I am a dancer who has pain or cramping in the hip and calf when sitting. Is this normal?
I am a dancer and actor who is experiencing some pain in his left hip and calf cramps. I could not dance or exercise a lot for about two months. I also work a day job, between concerts – and the calf was cramping up when sitting. I also have a sharp pain in my buttocks in certain positions (sitting or stretching the leg) through for my leg to the calf and foor. When I walk, dance, and standing, however, I feel no pain (and it usually feels better after). I lie when I can – But sitting in fixed position feels like a pinched nerve or muscle. I worry that has to do with the chair I'm using at work (which has a back bent and a "cap" immersion in the seat – and the back is bent backwards, but the seat does not move – so there is little support for the back). do other dancers have this problem between shows? I've never had before. And it's starting to affect my relaxing at home after work (and when I wake in the morning). The solutions?
