How can you check a serial number of a bicycle pedal 2 see if it is stolen?

The National Bike Registry is an optional service that many people use, but is not as popular it used to be. Moreover, even if someone registered, there is no guarantee that the bike has not been legitimately changed hands but the new owner did not register the change with that service. Police departments have access to their records, and some pawn shops to participate in it too. Their website is www.nationalbikeregistry.com. Some people actually register their bicycles with the manufacturer as well, but you have exactly the same problem. Sad to say, but in reality there is nothing going on to ensure they are not buying a hot bike. This is exactly why the smartest thing you can do for yourself as the owner of a motorcycle is to keep it in the List owner / renter insurance, and to check your auto insurance to see if it is covered in a property clause (very few do, but sometimes they will have coverage of some kind, even if you have to pay for an additional driver). For example, a hitch rack is often covered as an accessory of "permanent" in the vehicle, but the bike itself, though closed, is not. I get my shelf and the cost of a new frame covered by my insurance company after a 50/50 accident I had … I think I got lucky with that, however. If you have your bike insured, at least you're covered if stolen or damaged. Thus, you can relax on the stolen bike industry and buyers of used bikes can perhaps enjoy a good deal. That sucks, I know, but it is the best way look to the lack of accountability. : O) Oh, also, www.pinkbike.com has "stolen bikes" section on its website. It is most Canadians, but also has international partners. Well worth a look, however. …. So just call your local police department and tell them what wants to know. If you really want to make an extra effort, you can call the bike shop in the vendor area and post on message boards to see if anyone has lost this bike model.
